Melbourne's team colors are blue, white, and black. The name comes from the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon (Neptune), due to Melbourne's close proximities to water, and the team logo shows Neptune's symbol.
Their minor-league affiliate are the Hamilton Reds. Their rivals are the Sydney Kangaroos, due to them being the two largest cities in Australia.
